Convert a Word Document to a Google Doc

There are two main ways to convert a Word document to a Google Doc

Upload the Word document to Google Drive:
Go to drive.google.com and log in to your Google Account
Drag and drop the Word document onto the drive page or click the "New" button and select "File upload"
Convert the document: Once the upload is complete, right-click on the Word document and select "Open with" > "Google Docs"
Google Docs will automatically convert the document to its format.

Open the "Word" document in Google Docs:
Right-click on the "Word" document in Google Drive and select "open with" > "Google Docs"
Click "file" > "save as Google Docs"
